2020 Update

2020 Update

Well here we are!  Surviving this horrible pandemic, a very tough and ugly election battle and loss of work for millions of people.  For many of us this has been one of the most challenging of years. No matter how difficult it has been, the year has still pressed on. Leaving us with outcomes we could never have predicted when writing our New Year’s Goals for 2020.

With our 2020 events postponed to 2021 I asked the Lord what am I to do?

Starting with a personal recap, my husband Jack had ankle surgery so I took care of him all of February through April as the pandemic showed it’s ugly face. We were blessed to be able to be home together with our teen children.  After Jack went back to work I was still home working on settling our home and successfully graduating our youngest son after homeschooling him most all of his school years.  During this time God gave me the idea to write a journal.  I started making notes and working on it and all of a sudden…BOOM!  One of our children move out and my appendix ruptures at the end of July. After an emergency surgery and a broken heart it has taken 3 months for me to fully recover physically. My days were full of Netflix shows as I was mentally and physically exhausted with the littlest of activities. The idea of the journal kept pushing at me so I slowly started writing and planning more. As for my heart….I am at peace thanks be to God!

As of today the journal is in the publishers hands in the editing department. I am hoping it will be out for sale around the 1st of the year.  Keep and eye out of for updates as to the details of what it is and when and how you can get your hands on one!

The third thing I have been working on after recovery and writing is setting New Creation Events up as a WOSB (Woman Owned Small Business).  The benefits of this is I will be able to be hired to work on government contracts.  Which would be a new way of sharing the Gospel to so many!

Fourth, I am working on a sponsorship plan to have financially successful events. Tickets alone do not cover the costs of the events.  So God willing the new plan will create a better cash flow and income for me, all the while helping other businesses and non-profits get their information get out.

And finally the last big task I have been working on is the set up and training for a non-profit called New Creation Events Ministries. I am the director of this ministry department which is though Artists in Christian Testimony International based out of Nashville TN. Where I have a full board as well as a smaller group locally called a MAT Team (Ministry Accountability Team). Our mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in encouraging and creative ways. At this time some of the ways is giving Bibles away to new believers who would like one, creating free admission to events for college students and to other people who otherwise couldn’t afford to attend an event. Such as the people living at the homeless shelters, young women at the pregnancy centers. The most humbling part is it also raises support for me. I am so excited to partner with you all to help share the Gospel to these folks who will be so blessed!

One of the fun tasks during this time was having a new logo created for New Creation Events! Check it out! I really love how the sun rises up over the New Creation……

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Grace & Peace to you all,

Melissa
